About Kuruman

8 conference venues in Kuruman. Background, location and a map — see all venues to compare facilities, capacity and pricing.

Kuruman sits in the Kalahari foothills of the central Northern Cape, between Upington and Kimberley. It is a small town with an unusual history: the natural spring at Kuruman ("the Eye") flows at 20 million litres per day and has done so continuously for centuries. Robert Moffat established the original London Missionary Society mission here in 1820 — the family connection to David Livingstone (Moffat's son-in-law) makes Kuruman a significant heritage site. Conferencing is small and oriented toward the manganese mining and Hotazel industrial belt.

Where conferences happen

Kuruman Town Lodge, El Toro Lodge, plus a cluster of small mid-market hotels handle local conferencing. Larger events default to Kimberley or Upington.

When to pick Kuruman
