Umhlanga (often "Umhlanga Rocks") is the modern corporate and beachfront cluster 15 minutes north of Durban CBD. Getting there

King Shaka International is 25 minutes north via the M4 — the shortest premium-conference airport transfer in the country. Durban CBD is 15 minutes south. The M4 is the main ground-transport spine; Uber and Bolt are widely used.

Subtropical year-round — slightly cooler than Durban CBD due to coastal exposure. Summer afternoons (October–March) bring brief but heavy thunderstorms; winter (May–August) is dry, warm by day, mild by night.
