Polokwane is the capital of Limpopo and the largest urban area in the province. It sits in the Highveld grassland of the central Bushveld, roughly 300 km north of Johannesburg via the N1. The city hosted matches at the 2010 World Cup at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. As the only meaningful city-style conference centre in Limpopo, Polokwane handles almost all the province's government, agricultural, and academic conferencing.
