Randburg sits west of Sandton and north of the Johannesburg inner city — historically a separate municipality (incorporated into Joburg in 2000), and still a distinct cluster of suburbs and corporate parks. It is more residential than Sandton, more industrial than Rosebank, and a cheaper option for mid-market corporate conferencing drawing on the western-Joburg delegate base. The Randburg Towers and Cresta business district are the main commercial cores.

Where conferences happen

Indaba Hotel and Conference Centre (technically Fourways but operationally Randburg-adjacent), Premier Hotel Pretoria (Randburg), Garden Court Randburg, several mid-market chain hotels along Republic Road, plus a number of boutique conference venues in Bryanston (which crosses the Randburg/Sandton boundary). Most conferencing here is mid-market corporate training, sales meetings and AGMs.

When to pick Randburg

Mid-market corporate events drawing on the western-Joburg, West Rand and Krugersdorp delegate base. Significantly cheaper than Sandton — often a sensible choice for regional sales meetings and training programmes where premium positioning isn't the point.

Getting there

OR Tambo International is 35 minutes via the M1 and N3. Lanseria is 30 minutes northwest via the N14. No Gautrain station — taxi or transfer is the standard option.
